About Reimagined Pilates

Side Stretch

What is Pilates?

To put it simply, Pilates is a series of exercises that look simple but are based on a huge amount of technique and control.

Pilates, although incredibly popular now, has been around for years, and was founded by, Joseph Pilates. He came up with these main principles of Pilates: breath, concentration, control, precision, centre and flow and based his exercises around these principles.

Pilates has been adapted since then but these principles are still key. There's a strong focus on core strengthening in Pilates based on the concept that core strength supports our spines.

Reimagined Pilates Classes

My classes are relaxed, welcoming and non-judgemental - you can pace yourself and exercise in a way that works for you and your body.

Rotating between full body focus, glute focus, core focus and stretch and mobility, my classes will provide a balance of muscle strengthening and mobility to help you feel strong in your body. In some classes, I will incorporate small Pilates equipment like resistance bands and small balls to add an element of stability and balance.

Everyone is welcome and every body will benefit from taking Reimagined Pilates classes.

Why Reimagined Pilates?

The name Reimagined Pilates reflects my goal of wanting to 'reimagine' Pilates and create classes that are suitable for everyone and every body.

As someone with scoliosis, I know how frustrating it can be to go along to a fitness class just to realise that the instructor doesn't understand what scoliosis is and that the class isn't going to be suitable for m
e.

Because of this experience, I want to make sure that I make you feel understood and comfortable to take part in my classes. I will do my best to educate myself if you have a specific condition to make sure that you can come to class, have fun and not worry about the exercises making this any worse.
